We recognise that self-managing and self-directing our supports can be hard at times, especially with all the changing rules and the support lists.
Because of this, we want to offer the opportunity to get together regularly online for peer support.
What is peer support?
Peer support means people with similar experiences coming together to share ideas, learn from each other, and encourage one another. For the Self Manager Hub, this means NDIS participants and nominees who self-manage or self-direct supporting each other — sharing tips, experiences, and solutions so no one has to figure everything out alone.
We are looking to run an open peer support group for everyone, as well as groups for specific communities — including Youth, First Nations, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD), LGBTQIA+ participants, and Direct Employers.
