The NDIS has new rules that affect when people are allowed to manage their own funding. These rules explain when you can self-manage, use a plan manager, or must have the NDIA manage your funding.
In this workshop, we’ll explain the new rules in plain language. We’ll talk about what the NDIA looks at when deciding when someone can manage their own funding and what you can do if they say no. You’ll also learn what your rights are and how to speak up if you don’t agree with a decision.
We will also have an open discussion with our representative from the National Disability Insurance Agency where you can share your experiences and ask questions about the new rules.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- What the new rules say about self-managing or using a plan manager
- What the NDIA looks for when making decisions
- What kinds of risks might stop someone from managing their own funding
- What support can help you be able to manage your funds
- What to do if your funding is changed or if you want to challenge a decision
What to expect:
- A simple explanation of the rules
- Real-life examples to help make it clear
- Time to ask your questions
