The Self Manager Hub has made a formal submission to the Australian Government as part of the consultation on the NDIS Section 10 Supports Rules and it’s powered by your voices.
Since the new rules were introduced,, we’ve heard from hundreds of people in our community who are navigating the new “In” and “Out” support lists. You’ve told us that the rules are confusing, rigid, and eroding the choice and control that self management was meant to protect. We’ve listened and we’ve taken your experiences straight to government.
In our submission, we call for:
- A return to a principles-based approach grounded in trust and individual needs.
- Replacing rigid lists with a simple test: does the support meet a disability-related need in a cost-effective way?
- Restoring choice, control and flexibility for self managers.
You can read our full submission here.
To everyone who attended a workshop, shared their story, or posted in our Facebook group—thank you. Your insights shaped this submission, and your voices are so important as we fight to protect choice and control in the NDIS.
