This peer-led workshop was for NDIS participants who wanted to understand and influence the government’s review of the NDIS support lists—rules that decide what people can and can’t purchase with their NDIS funding. It was a timely opportunity to speak up and push for changes that reflect what really matters to people with disability.
🎤 Special Guest: Sarah Hawke from the Department of Health, Disability and Aged Care joined the session to hear from participants directly and share insight on the review process.
What Participants Learned:
How the NDIS support lists are being reviewed, what the government is aiming to change, and why it’s crucial that people with disability lead the conversation.
Skills and strategies to tell their story in a way that gets heard—understanding what decision-makers listen to, what counts as evidence, and how to create impact.
Opportunities to share experiences, strategies, and concerns with peers, identify what’s not working, and workshop ideas for change.
